However, it is not necessary to have a MySQL server as PHP Free Chat stores the conversations in various files. The compatible PHP versions are PHP 4 and 5.

And there's more; as it uses the languages XML and UTF-8, you can use PHP Free Chat with virtually any language in the world, including Chinese, Russian or Arabic.

PHP Free Chat supports private messaging, moderation and the use of emoticons. It will notify you when a message is sent via the channel and allows you to format the text. Finally, its interface is fully customizable using CSS.
